Each of our Geographers recently completed three days of Fieldwork, collecting data for their Independent Investigation (NEA).

The first two days were spent in the Morecambe Bay area measuring beach profiles and sediment deposition, in addition to assessing the Environmental Impact of different sea defences and investigating the relative success of various Urban Regeneration projects.
On the final day, students worked with great enthusiasm in the sun, investigating the changes in plant communities, micro-climate and sand dune structure at Sandscale Haws NNR, on the Duddon Estuary, all with the support of Field Studies Council Tutors from Castle Head FSC Canter, Grange-over-Sands.

Our Head of Geography, Kieron, says, “It’s a total privilege to work with these Geographers!”
