Who are the Taster Days intended for?

  • Taster Days are designed specifically for students who have applied to Carmel College.

  • They’re a great opportunity to confirm subject choices or explore different options before enrolling.

  • Personalised timetables will be emailed to applicants who have confirmed their place,  a few days before the event, so keep an eye on your inbox!

Preparing for Your Taster Day at Carmel College

  • Dress Code: Students are welcome to wear their own clothes – there is no uniform requirement.
  • What to Bring: We recommend bringing a pen and paper to take notes during sessions. If you’re taking part in any sports activities, please bring appropriate sportswear or kit.
  • Spending Money: It’s advisable to bring some cash for food, drinks, or public transport, if needed.
  • Arrival is between 8:30 and 9:20 am. If you’re travelling by car, drop-off and pick-up are available outside the college or at West Park Rugby Club next door.

Travel by Bus!

  • The college is accessible via the main public bus routes from Knowsley, St Helens, Liverpool, Golborne, and Leigh areas.
  • We also offer a FREE contracted bus service covering Widnes and Westbrook, Warrington, as well as other paid services around the Warrington area.
  • For those using our FREE contracted bus services, we have informed the bus drivers that applicants will be traveling to and from Carmel College during our taster day.
  • You may need to purchase a MyTicket from Merseytravel for the day

Make the most of your day at Carmel with a full timetable of lessons, activities, and opportunities to explore college life

  • 8:30–9:20 – Arrival & Registration (Grab a free breakfast snack on arrival!)
  • 9:30–10:30 – Lesson 1
  • 10:35–11:25 – Lesson 2
  • 11:25–11:55 – Morning Break
  • 11:55–12:45 – Lesson 3
  • 12:45–13:40 – Lunch
  • 12:50–13:35 – Enrichment Fair (drop in anytime!)
  • 13:40–14:30 – Lesson 4

Check In and Get Started

When you arrive, please check in at the Student Entrance. Our friendly staff and Student Ambassadors will be on hand to guide you if needed

Carmel’s campus is compact and easy to navigate. During the day, your lessons may take place in one or more of the following buildings:

  • West Park (Floor Numbers start with 0, 1, and 2)
  • Notre Dame
  • Stoker
  • Anselm
  • Campion
