Lower Sixth student, Amelia Smith, recently attended a Networking and Insight Day at International Law Firm, Clifford Chance!

During half term, Amelia travelled to London to attend the event which was held at Canary Wharf. She had the opportunity to meet other people interested in a law career and spoke to trainees who are currently working there.

Amelia, who came to Carmel from Broadgreen High School, is studying Law, Criminology and Performing Arts. When we asked her about her experience she said: “I found out about Clifford Chance’s Networking and Insight Day through Carmel’s Law Society. The event was run in collaboration with young professionals who oversaw the application process, and I was lucky enough to gain a place.

“The event was held in their offices on the 30th floor where I got to take lots of photos of the amazing surroundings. We learned about the different pathways you can take to gain a job in a law firm, the types of jobs that Clifford chance offers (and their salaries), and their work experience ACCESS scheme.

“I really enjoyed the event because it was so informative. I also made friends that I’ve spoken to a lot since the event who have similar passions and ambitions to me. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to attend! After Carmel I hope to go to university to study law and eventually gain a pupillage and become a criminal barrister.

What a fantastic opportunity for Amelia, we wish her every success with her studies at Carmel and in the future.
