Yesterday our Politics department and Student Council held a Q&A session with local MP and next week’s general election Labour candidate, Marie Rimmer.

Former students Kai Taylor and Josh Speakman also joined the meeting. Kai is the Green Party candidate for St Helens South and Whiston. Josh, who is popularly know as ‘Tory Josh’, was Student Council President three years ago.

The event was a great opportunity to discuss current issues affecting young people today. The standard of the questions from our students really impressed our guests.

Many thanks to current Student Council President, Eva Carroll, for chairing the meeting. Thanks also to our visitors for taking the time to come into college to speak with our students.
