Many thanks to former student, Joe Sullivan, for letting us know about all the fabulous things you have achieved since leaving Carmel in 2015.

Joe is passionate about helping children and young people with special educational needs. During his time at Carmel, Joe volunteered in schools, youth clubs and scout groups alongside his studies.

He has also visited The Gambia, worked as a camp counsellor in America and volunteered as an English teacher in Thailand.

In 2020, Joe graduated from The University of Cumbria with a first class degree in primary education with inclusion and special educational needs. He now works in a residential school for children and teenagers with behavioural difficulties, and speaks publically about his autism journey in schools and colleges.

In the future Joe plans to do a masters degree and is hoping to visit Africa again and possibly Australia! What a fantastic journey you have been on Joe.

We are so proud of everything you have achieved Joe. We are glad our Additional Learning Support team were able to support you and give you the confidence to achieve all that you have. Congratulations!
