Recently our Level 3 Criminology students visited the Greater Manchester Police Museum and Manchester Magistrates’ Court to support their Unit 3 topic ‘Crime Scene to Courtroom’.

Students had a guided tour of the museum where they had a brief lecture on the history of the police force and the personnel in the Criminal Justice System. They got to see the different equipment officers used in the past compared to present day, the conditions in the holding cells and the first face reconstruction from a skull!

After lunch the group were able to sit in on real life cases in Manchester Magistrates’ Court. This was a fantastic opportunity for our students and will really help support their work.
