Yesterday, our Business and Economics students from Carmel had the exciting opportunity to experience life at Lancaster University, gaining valuable insight into what studying at university can offer.

The day began with an introduction to campus life, giving students a feel for the facilities, resources, and vibrant student community. They explored the campus and learned about the wide range of opportunities available to students, including work experience programs and extracurricular activities designed to prepare learners for future careers.

A highlight of the visit was the series of taster lectures in Business Entrepreneurship and Behavioural Economics. Students engaged with the content, discovering how theory is applied in real-world contexts, and got a taste of the challenging yet rewarding nature of higher education study. The sessions encouraged critical thinking, creativity, and curiosity — all essential skills for their academic and professional futures.

The visit provided an inspiring insight into university life, helping students understand the pathways available to them beyond school and motivating them to think ambitiously about their future careers. Staff at Carmel were proud of how engaged, inquisitive, and enthusiastic the students were throughout the day.

We extend our thanks to the team at Lancaster University for welcoming our students and providing such a memorable and informative experience. This visit marks the start of exciting journeys for our learners as they explore the possibilities in higher education and the world of business and economics.
