Our Year 12 BTEC Performance Musical Theatre students recently had an outstanding opportunity to work with acclaimed West End performer Carley Stenson, who returned to Carmel to deliver a specialist singing workshop.

Carley, whose extensive professional credits include leading roles in major productions such as Les Misérables, Legally Blonde, and Shrek, led a focused and highly engaging session designed to support students in preparation for their solo singing technique assessment.

Throughout the workshop, students explored key aspects of professional performance practice, including vocal technique and control, acting through song, and developing a stronger emotional connection to character. They were also encouraged to build confidence in their performance skills and apply industry-level approaches to their assessed work.

The session provided invaluable insight into the expectations of the professional performing arts industry, allowing students to refine their work under expert guidance and gain a deeper understanding of the discipline, commitment, and artistry required for success as a performer.
