Carmel College was delighted to welcome members of the college community to an exhibition by U6 UAL Extended Diploma in Creative Practice students, showcasing an impressive and diverse range of artwork in the Notre Dame building.
The exhibition was displayed in Room N007 as well as the foyer area, transforming the space into a vibrant celebration of creativity and thoughtful artistic exploration.
In a world where it is often easier to focus on the negative, students were challenged to seek out “Awe and Wonder” within their creative practice. As part of this brief, each student selected an object from either Manchester Museum or The Whitworth Gallery that inspired them, using this artefact as the starting point for their individual creative projects.
The resulting body of work was thoughtful and sensitive, exploring a wide range of themes and demonstrating students’ ability to respond creatively to external influences while developing their own artistic voice.
The exhibition was open to all members of the Carmel College community from Tuesday 3rd February to Friday 6th February, and was viewed during break times and dinnertimes.
Carmel College was proud to support the exhibition and to celebrate the creativity and dedication of its students. Visitors were invited to share their reflections by leaving comments in the visitors’ book, which the students greatly appreciated.
