Carmel students demonstrated compassion and generosity by hosting a Solidarity Soup Kitchen in support of CAFOD’s Harvest Fast Day Appeal.

The event brought our college community together to raise funds to help children access clean water at school, supporting CAFOD’s work to improve the lives of communities around the world.

Alongside the soup kitchen, our Foundation Learning students enjoyed taking part in a creative ‘Let Your Light Shine’ pumpkin carving activity. The activity provided an opportunity to reflect on how we can use our own gifts and talents to bring light to others and make a positive difference in the lives of those around us.

Both activities highlighted the importance of Catholic Social Teaching, particularly the principles of Solidarity and the Common Good. By thinking beyond ourselves and supporting those facing challenges around the world, our students demonstrated how small acts of kindness and generosity can have a lasting impact.

We are incredibly proud of everyone who contributed, supported the fundraising and helped make the activities such a success. It was a wonderful example of our Carmel community putting its values into action and showing solidarity with those most in need.
