On Friday, Forty of our A Level PE and BTEC Sport students attended Everton’s training facility, Finch Farm!

The afternoon began with a tour of the club’s training complex which included visiting the indoor training pitch, gym facility, the academy offices, U18 pitch and outdoor training pitches. Students were also fortunate enough the observe Everton U21 team’s strength and conditioning session.

Following the tour, students took part in seminars with a range of specialist staff who discussed their roles within Everton Football Club and career pathways into elite sport. These engaging sessions were delivered by experts in performance analysis, sports psychology, coaching, sports medicine, education and player welfare. It was a really inspiring afternoon with some excellent advice for our students.

Key messages that they were able to take away were to gain as much voluntary experience as possible to enhance your CV and personal statement if applying for university or considering a career in elite sport.

A big thank you to Chris Adamson, Head of Education and Player Care at Everton Football Club for organising the afternoon and all staff involved.
