It was our privilege to sponsor the Leadership Award at the Pride of St Helens Awards but a highlight for us was seeing one of our students nominated for the Young Community Star Award. Eleanor Wharton studies A-Levels in History, Psychology and English Literature at Carmel but alongside her studies she volunteers her time to many different local charities. As well as taking part in fundraising events in and out of college, she dedicates her time to the 27th Rainbows and Brownies working with girls aged 5 to 11, as well as the Bleakhill Holiday Club, Whizzkids. Not only does she give up her time to these during the week, at the weekend she helps at Paparazzi Dance Academy working with children from the local community. Eleanor is a remarkable person and we look forward to hearing more about her charity work in the future.
