Carmel College welcomed representatives from His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) for an informative and engaging careers event, giving students an insight into the wide range of professional opportunities available within the prison and probation service.
The visit provided students with the opportunity to hear from professionals working across a variety of roles, including Prison Officers, Probation Officers, Approved Premises staff and careers officers. Through their experiences and insights, the speakers highlighted the diverse career pathways available within HMPPS and the important work carried out across the service.
Students were encouraged to ask questions and engage with the visiting professionals, gaining a better understanding of the responsibilities associated with each role, the different routes into the sector and the skills required to pursue a career in this field.
The event offered a valuable opportunity for students to explore potential career options, broaden their knowledge of the public services sector and learn directly from those working within it.
Carmel College would like to thank all the HMPPS representatives who visited the College and generously shared their time, knowledge and experiences with students. Their contribution helped make the event an excellent opportunity for careers education and inspiration.
