Last week, thirty A Level History & Classical Civilisation students enjoyed an unforgettable educational trip to Rome, immersing themselves in the rich history, culture and atmosphere of Italy’s capital.

During the visit, students explored some of the city’s most famous historical sites, bringing their classroom studies to life. Highlights included the Risorgimento Museum, where they learned more about Italy’s unification, the iconic Colosseum and the magnificent St Peter’s Basilica.

The group also visited some of Rome’s best-known landmarks, including the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, giving them the chance to experience the city’s unique blend of ancient history and modern culture.

Alongside the educational visits, students enjoyed sampling authentic Italian cuisine, with plenty of pizza, pasta and gelato throughout the trip.

The visit provided a fantastic opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of history while experiencing one of Europe’s most iconic cities, creating lasting memories both inside and outside the classroom.
