Former Art & Design student, Georgia Madden, came into college earlier this week to deliver an animation workshop to our Extended Diploma and Graphic Design students.

Georgia, who came to Carmel from Broughton Hall High School, excelled at Carmel completing both the UAL Extended Diploma and Art Foundation courses.

Whilst studying at Carmel, Georgia created some amazing animations on a whole range of topics. She was even commissioned by the BBC to create a film featuring Divination Dave. This dark but comical stop motion animation is about a crisp-loving couch potato who finds himself on a journey of accidental enlightenment when his favourite flavour of salty crisps runs out!

Georgia, who is now self-employed Animator, brought Divination Dave into college to show our students. This extremely successful animation has featured at several animation festivals including Montreal! It also won the Founder’s Award at the British Short Film fest and Best Animation at the BFI Future Film Fest, which is a huge achievement.

Our students really enjoyed the workshop with Georgia. We can’t wait to see what she goes on to achieve next.
