At Carmel we’re always excited to hear the success of our students. Our most recent success stories come from our fantastic Foundation Learning department!

We managed to catch up with placement co-ordinator, Lauren Molyneux, who said “the work experience programme takes place once a week and is a fantastic opportunity to help our students gain essential business and workplace skills”. Experienced placement student, Josh, returned to his post as a Barista at Costa Coffee after the success of last year. He attends once a week and is really enjoying his placement. He helps clean and clear the table, serves and chats to the customers. And has even been using the coffee machine to make a few hot drinks. Josh is proud to be getting some hands-on experience and is photographed below sporting his signature smile. Great work Josh!

Another Foundation student, Louis, who left for his placement on Tuesday 9th October has also managed to gain a position working at Greenslate Community Farm in Billinge. With the help of our internal Farm Shop fruit and veg delivery service, Louis is ready to put his skills into practice. He attends once a week for 5 hours and has been doing a fantastic job helping in the cafe!
