It’s great to hear from former student, Lee Hodgetts who left Carmel in 2016.

Lee studied Film Studies, Media Studies and Spanish at Carmel. He went on to study Film & Television Production at The University of York.

This is Lee’s update…

“During my university studies I took a year out (a placement year). I worked for the Walt Disney Company in London as a Marketing Intern for Disney Channels, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

“Now that I’ve completed my degree I am focused on building a screenwriting career. I recently won a playwriting contest which means my play will hopefully be showcased at the London Southwark Playhouse Theatre with a director and actors attached when Covid restrictions allow.

“Currently I am working at a care home as an activity co-ordinator which I absolutely adore. This year has been hard on the care home residents and it is my job to bring much needed fun, interaction and entertainment.”

Looking back on his time at Carmel Lee said “Carmel really opened my eyes to all the exciting possibilities that life has to offer. For the first time, I found subjects that really appealed to me and which shaped the way I thought about the world. The campus at Carmel felt fresh and exciting, and provided a great environment for innovation.”

Many thanks for getting in touch Lee, what a great achievement!
