Alumni student, Jack Robertson, is now working as a Digital Designer at Magellan Robotech Ltd, an organisation that designs and develops software for the gambling industry.

He’s been in touch to let us know how he’s getting on…

“After studying the the first year of the BA Hons Graphic Design degree at Carmel, I went on to graduate from the University of Salford in May 2017. I am currently working as digital designer at Magellan Robotech. The job exposes me to a variety of Graphic Design fields often such as; UI/UX, Visual Design, Animation and layout. My role can be quite demanding but I’m gaining a greater understanding of the design industry which is beneficial for my future goal to run my own agency.

Outside of work I am keeping busy working under the name of Filter Co. I am building up my own Digital Marketing company, creating campaigns for businesses wanting to boost their online presence. As well as this, I am developing my own fitness application, ‘Training +’. You can check out some of its features on my dribbble page: dribbble.com/jackarobertson.

I can’t thank Pete and Dave enough for all their efforts whilst teaching us on the Graphic Design degree course. They both went out of their way to enlighten us with new ideas and design styles that have definitely impacted my route as a designer. The Graphic Design course at Carmel gives you just the right about of creative freedom to experiment and figure out exactly who you are as a designer ready for higher education.”
