Carmel’s Gold Duke of Edinburgh students have completed their April 2019 Practice Expedition.

Nineteen of our Lower Sixth, D of E students arrived in Baildon, West Yorkshire for the start of their three day intense training course. Here the group learnt basic survival and orienteering skills to help them with their practice expedition, which consisted of two days and two nights. Accompanied by members of Carmel staff, the group were encouraged to work as smaller teams to problem-solve and overcome obstacles.

Overall, the weather held up quite nicely for our students, despite some chilly starts. We are pleased to report that all of our students have made it back safely and survived the challenge amidst the Yorkshire Dales. Congratulations to the students who took part, we look forward to seeing your future expeditions.
