Students and staff came together at college to celebrate World Autism Awareness Day with a vibrant “Light It Up Blue” event on campus.

Although the official day fell on 2nd April during the spring break, the college community felt it was important to mark the occasion once everyone had returned. The event provided an opportunity to raise awareness, show support, and celebrate neurodiversity in an inclusive and meaningful way.

In line with this year’s “Light It Up Blue” theme, students and staff wore blue throughout the day as a visible sign of solidarity. The canteen joined in the celebrations by offering a selection of blue-themed treats, adding a fun and engaging element to the event.

A highlight of the day was the “Blue Wall,” where members of the college community were invited to share messages, thoughts, and experiences. This created a powerful display of support, understanding, and appreciation for individuals on the autism spectrum.

The event reflected the college’s strong commitment to inclusion and diversity, recognising and celebrating what makes each individual unique. Staff and students alike contributed to making the day a memorable and impactful occasion, reinforcing a shared message of acceptance and support.
