Lauren Norton, Isobel Winckles and Amy Winter on receiving their Gold Duke of Edinburgh awards

Our students visited Buckingham Palace to collect their Gold Duke of Edinburgh awards. This is a fantastic achievement for them and testimony to the hard work and effort that they have invested into the DofE Programme which runs at Carmel.

When we caught up with Lauren she said “DofE pushed me to do things I might not have done, for example I volunteered with a local cat shelter every Saturday, learnt how to drive as my skill and even visited the Isle of Man on a residential trip.”

Whilst attending the celebration at Buckingham Palace, our students met actor, Neil Morrissey who spoke to each of them individually and personally about his own life experiences. They also got to meet and talk to Princess Eugenie of York, another incredible experience! We would like to thank all of the DofE instructors for helping our students complete their expeditions and congratulate Lauren, Isobel and Amy on their success.
