Today we would like to celebrate Lower Sixth student, Latoya Likambi who has recently won an award for being a rising female leader. Latoya has exhibited exceptional potential and displays promise for future leadership at the age of 17!

Alongside studying Business Studies, Spanish and Philosophy, Ethics & Religion at Carmel, Latoya runs her own Cosmetic business – Teyes Eye Cosmetics.

Latoya opened the store in Liverpool at the age of 15 and works their part time during term time and full time in the holiday. Her brand is an organic skincare and haircare business that sells 100% cold pressed and organic handmade products. She is also co-founder/mentor at Likambi Global Publishing and Liverpool’s youngest best-selling author of three books. Latoya is a confident young speaker and a role model for children globally!

Last month, she attended the Global Women’s Leadership Summit which was hosted by her mother, Dr Sylvia Likambi. It is a platform for influential and successful leaders to foster global collaboration and transformational leadership. This is where Latoya proudly won her award! Her Mother is a fantastic role model and a multi-award winning speaker/coach, best selling author and the founder of many inspirational businesses. we can see where Latoya get’s her ambition from!

Latoya says, “Owning a business alongside attending school can be a challenge but I love it. My business is something I’m passionate about and so are my studies. I also picked Business Studies for GCSE and now at A-Level. Carmel has provided me with great support and learning facilities to study what I love so far.”

We are so inspired by Latoya’s hard work and determination inside and outside of the college.
