Staff from Carmel College have undergone training to give them a greater understanding of how to prevent suicide.
Suicide in young adults is on the increase. Last year St Helens had the fourth-highest suicide rate in England. After recognising this, Personal Achievement Tutor, Joanne Drew and Chaplain, Kathryn Edmond, attended the City and Guilds Suicide First Aid course hosted by ABD Training.
We are very proud to be leading the way in suicide intervention and can now offer specific support in college.
