We are extremely grateful to have been the first college in the country to receive funding from the CreatedBy Rugby League World Cup 2021 Capital Grants Programme.
Carmel will receive £2,624.12 from the CreatedBy RLWC2021 Capital Grants Programme. The funding will provide our rugby teams with new equipment and a brand-new kit. This year we have both boys and girls Rugby League teams and we are looking forward to continuing our success from last season.
Our Principal, Mike Hill, said: “As an Outstanding College in a town with such a great Rugby League heritage, we welcome the support and opportunity the CreatedBy RLW2021 Programme offers us to continue to build and develop a Rugby programme at Carmel for all our students.”
CreatedBy, kindly invited our Principal, Mike Hill, and Rugby Coach, Kieran Lacey, to Wembley stadium for a pre-match presentation. This was during the St Helens Vs Warrington Wolves Challenge Cup Final. The Rugby League World Cup 2021 CEO, Jon Dutton presented them with a rugby ball, signed by the World Cup Ambassadors. They got to enjoy the match, even if it was a disappointing outcome for us St Helens fans but overall it was a great experience and we are very pleased to have been given this opportunity. Bring on the 2021 World Cup!
