The Carmel College Literature Festival proved to be a resounding success, with two days of inspiring talks, creative performances, and student-led celebration of literature.
Day one got off to an exciting start as the college welcomed guest speakers Zoe Richards and Rob Parker, who set the tone for a dynamic and engaging programme. Students had the opportunity to hear first-hand insights into the world of writing, gaining valuable inspiration from experienced voices in the field.
Lunchtime brought a shift to performance, with a standout rendition of On My Own from Les Misérables, beautifully performed by student Lucy Taylor. This was followed by a series of powerful and thought-provoking poetry readings from students Anelis Mazilu, Jasper Blakely, and Isabel Davies, showcasing the depth of creative talent within the college.
The afternoon sessions continued to captivate, with guest speakers Lea Bradly, Sean Watkin, and Melissa Grindon delivering engaging talks that encouraged students to explore their own creativity and ambitions.
The festival continued into a second day filled with equally inspiring contributions. Students were delighted to welcome a diverse range of guest speakers, including Lewis Hancox, Harry, Lola, and Zoe Wallace, whose sessions offered fresh perspectives and meaningful discussions around literature, creativity, and storytelling.
The event was a true celebration of both professional and emerging talent, highlighting the passion for literature across the college community. A huge thank you was extended to all guest speakers for their time and insight, as well as to the dedicated students and staff whose hard work and organisation made the festival possible.
The Carmel College Literature Festival stands as a proud example of what can be achieved through collaboration, creativity, and a shared love of the written word.
