At the beginning of term, we asked students to submit entries for our Black History Month competition.  They had to submit either;

A poem about the contributions of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities or inspirational individuals

A short story or children’s book about the lived experiences of BAME individuals/communities

Artwork celebrating inspirational BAME individuals (any media)

A short film about the lived experiences of BAME people/communities

 We received some excellent entries and the Equality and Diversity Committee had the responsibility of voting for their favourite. The competition was very close but we have our winners, congratulations to;

1st place: Lily Hughes  – Portrait of Jessye Norman

2nd place: Courtney Speedy – Portrait of Marsha P. Johnson

3rd place: Ella Gorman – A story about Rosa Parks

 Thank you to everyone who entered, they were fantastic! You can see all the entries on the E and D Connect page.
