Our A Level Fine Art & UAL Extended Diploma students enjoyed a visit from renowned Liverpool-born, working class artist; Fox Irving, and Learning Producer Emma Curd from Heart of Glass.

Both professionals delivered an interactive talk today to share their experiences and journeys as full-time artists. They also discussed the opportunities available outside of college through a current project which Fox and Heart of Glass are working on together.

The Heart of Glass is a Merseyside-based community arts organisation that is passionate about bringing people together to create real change throughout the community via the medium of art. Fox’s artwork is shaped by the liminal, precarious identity they inhabit as queer/femme/working class, this is translated into their pieces through a playful, DIY approach informed by activist strategies and centres around collaboration.

We’re looking forward to seeing the work produced by our students as a result of this creative collaboration project!
