Congratulations to Alumni student Emma Gorman who has been selected to receive a Dean’s Award for her outstanding academic performance during her time at Leeds Trinity University.

Emma came to Carmel College from St Gregory’s Catholic High School and studied A Level French, Politics and Law. She progressed onto studying Law at Leeds Trinity University and is currently in her second year.

Emma loved her time at Carmel and says, “I really enjoyed my time at Carmel. I met lots of brilliant people who I am still friends with now. I am grateful for many experiences given to me at college, especially completing my Gold Duke of Edinburgh Expedition.”

Fully embracing university life, Emma is the Social Secretary of the Leeds Trinity Law society and is a Course Rep for second year Law. She is loving her course so far and finished her first year with a grade average of 75.64 which is a First!

We are very proud of Emma and she is very deserving of her award. When we asked her how she felt when hearing she was selected, Emma says, “I was really shocked when I received the email saying I’d been selected for the Dean’s Award, as I had no idea about them. I was excited that my hard work was being recognised. I am really looking forward to the award ceremony.”

The ceremony will take place on Wednesday 7th February at the university campus and she will receive a certificate for recognition of all the hard work she has put into her education.

Well done Emma from everyone at Carmel and we wish you the best of luck for the rest of your studies.
