We welcomed guest speaker Gill Connor, who is an Admiral Nurse, into college to explain to our Health and Social Care students about her role at the Pilkington Family Trust. This is a charity which supports individuals living with dementia and their families within the local area. Admiral nurses are named after Dementia UK founder Joseph Levy who, because of his love of sailing, was known as Admiral Joe.
Gill was able to bring to life the support required from her role and really gave an insight into what is involved in being a specialist nurse and It showed our students a different career pathway. Thanks to Gill for giving up an hour of her valuable time to highlight her role and for inspiring our students.
