Elected every spring, members of the Student Council make up a 13 position body that represents all students at Carmel.

“The aim of the Student Council is to represent the interests of all students of the college and to promote their educational, social, spiritual and welfare needs.”

The Student Council is responsible for presenting views of the wider student community and act as the ‘student voice’ in college. The Student Council Constitution is reviewed annually and the latest version will be published when the new members have been elected.

An election for Student Council roles takes place every year in May. Further details about members will follow once this year’s elections have taken place.

13. Lower Sixth Rep

The Student Council take up any important issues with the College Management Team on students’ behalf. Throughout the year there are also opportunities to initiate a number of campaigns and fundraising events too, such as the ongoing Gambia Clean Water Project.
