Carmel transport options 22-23

Download our Travelling to Carmel College document which provides information on all bus routes to Carmel College for our College buses and public buses including Liverpool (and surrounding areas), Leigh, St Helens, Prescot, Newton, Parr, Clinkham Wood, Clock Face, Sutton, Bold, Lingley Green, Rainford, Widnes, Warrington, Wigan, Ashton

College contracted services (i.e. Warrington and Widnes college buses) are classed as dedicated further education and skills provider transport. No members of the public will be allowed to travel on our services.

*Please note that for the 741 and 297 services, you will need to purchase a Merseytravel pass as an Arriva pass is not valid for these routes.

ARRIVA

Public Transport – travelling from Liverpool (and surrounding areas):

  • No.10 route from Liverpool City Centre to St Helens via Prescot Road and stops outside the College.
  • No.10a route from Liverpool City Centre to St Helens via Prescot, Rainhill, Nutgrove stopping on Prescot Road, Toll Bar (5-minute walk).
  • No.89 route from John Lennon Airport through Huyton to Toll Bar (5-minute walk)

Arriva termly passes 2010-22

Please note: A fee of £25 is charged by Arriva for lost/replacement passes

Arriva Pass – This termly pass can be purchased directly from College via Parentmail on-line services. Once payment has been confirmed a pass will be produced for you.

Arriva Scholars Saver Pass

MERSEYTRAVEL

The following Carmel College buses are contracted by Merseytravel and are scheduled to arrive at College before 8.45am and to leave at approx 4.20pm:

  • Service 741 – Newton-Parr-Sutton-Rainhill
  • Service 742 – Platt Bridge-Golborne-Ashton-Haydock-Chain Lane
  • Service 743 – Rainford-Dentons Green-Eccleston

Merseytravel solo term time only passes can be purchased from any Merseytravel Centre. Term time solo pass £94.50.

Please see table below for sale/withdrawal from sale dates are applicable for both Solo and Trio Term Time tickets.

WIDNES and WARRINGTON contracted Bus Services
IMPORTANT – Transport timetable change after the Easter break!

Please be aware of the change to our contracted services on Friday afternoon homeward bound journeys with effect from Friday 22nd April onwards.
For the remainder of the academic year the pick-up time will be at 4.15pm in preparation for the exam timetable.
There will no longer be a 1.45pm collection on Fridays.

WIDNES

  • Service 1W & 2W – Widnes

Widnes Pass 20-21 (payable via Parentmail on-line services) *£425 (which equates to £1.12 per journey)

WARRINGTON

  • Route 1 – Kingsway Bus – Kingsway North to Carmel College
  • Route 2 – Grappenhall Bus – Grappenhall, Warrington, Old Hall, Carmel College
  • Route 3 – Croft Bus – Croft, Culcheth, Orford, Winwick, Carmel College

Warrington Pass 21-22 (payable via Parentmail on-line services) – *£415 (which equates to £1.10 per journey)

NEW ‘BUS SHARE’ SCHEME – Route B
– HATTONS TRAVEL

In collaboration with St Helens College a new direct service is available for 21/22 for students travelling from Westleigh, Leigh, Lowton, Golborne & Ashton-in-Makerfield areas.
