We were delighted to welcome Dr Natalie Kenny, University of Lancashire graduate, multi-award-winning scientist, CEO and Founder of the BioGrad Group, for an inspiring ‘Inspire Me’ talk with our Biology students.
Dr Kenny shared her journey into science and entrepreneurship, exploring exciting topics including degree apprenticeships, drug development, the gender health gap and the future of stem cell therapies for conditions such as cancer, endometriosis and Parkinson’s disease.
Her talk encouraged students to look beyond traditional career pathways, consider inequalities in scientific research and recognise the opportunities to shape the future of healthcare and medicine.
Students were particularly inspired by the potential of stem cell research and the importance of addressing the under-representation of women’s health in scientific studies. They also took away a powerful message about the endless possibilities within science and the importance of pursuing ambitions and taking risks.
A huge thank you to Dr Kenny for sharing her expertise, experiences and passion with our students. Her visit provided a valuable insight into the future of scientific research and the diverse career opportunities available within the world of science.
