We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon celebrating Diwali, as students came together to share the colour, culture and traditions of the South Asian community.

Organised by Carmel’s South Asian Society (CSAS), the celebration brought the Dalton to life with a fantastic programme of entertainment, showcasing the incredible talents of our students. The audience enjoyed vibrant dance performances, soulful singing and a variety of performances that captured the spirit of South Asian culture.

The event provided a fantastic opportunity for students and staff to come together, celebrate diversity and learn more about the traditions and significance of Diwali, the Festival of Lights.

Celebrations such as these reflect Carmel’s commitment to creating an inclusive community where different cultures and traditions are recognised, respected and celebrated. They also demonstrate our values of Human Dignity and Solidarity, encouraging us to appreciate one another and recognise the richness that diversity brings to our college community.

A huge thank you to everyone who performed, helped organise the event and joined us in making the afternoon such a memorable celebration. In particular, we are incredibly proud of our South Asian Society for bringing the Carmel community together and creating such a wonderful celebration of culture, creativity and community.
