Carmel College was delighted to welcome back a group of former Mount Carmel students for a special visit to their old school site, offering a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with their past and reflect on their school experiences.
The alumni were joined by Principal Janet Gater and Vice Principal Laura Forsyth, who is herself a proud former Mount Carmel student. Together, they explored the site, shared memories, and reminisced about their time at the school, reflecting on the friendships, experiences, and opportunities that helped shape their lives.
As part of the visit, the group took the opportunity to offer advice and encouragement to our incoming Year 12 students. They wrote thoughtful messages on postcards, answering one simple but powerful question: “If you could tell them just one thing, what would it be?”
Their heartfelt words captured the value of embracing new opportunities, building friendships, working hard, and making the most of every moment during their time at Carmel.
The visit was a celebration of the lasting connection that so many former students continue to have with the college and highlighted the strong sense of community that spans generations.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our alumni for taking the time to return, share their stories, and inspire the next generation of students. We know their advice will provide encouragement and reassurance to those beginning their own Carmel journey this September.
