As the World Cup gets underway, Carmel College is proud to celebrate the achievements of two former students who will be representing their countries on the biggest stage in world football.
Both Antonee Robinson (Class of 2016) and Anthony Gordon (Class of 2019) began their journeys while balancing their studies at Carmel College with the demands of elite youth football at Everton Academy. This summer, they will take their places among the world’s best players as they compete for international honours.
Antonee Robinson – Team USA
Antonee Robinson studied at Carmel while developing his football career through Everton’s Academy. Remembered by staff as an excellent student with a particular talent for mathematics, Antonee demonstrated the same dedication and determination in the classroom as he did on the pitch.
Now an established international for the United States, Antonee heads into the tournament full of confidence following a strong run of performances, including finding the net in a recent international friendly. Carmel College is delighted to see him representing Team USA on football’s grandest stage.
Anthony Gordon – Team England
Anthony Gordon also combined his studies at Carmel with the demands of academy football. Since leaving college, he has gone on to establish himself as one of England’s most exciting talents, earning widespread recognition for his performances at the highest level of the game.
His inclusion in the England squad is a testament to his hard work, commitment, and exceptional ability, and the entire Carmel community is proud to see him representing his country at the World Cup.
