Carmel College’s Sports Teacher, Simon Verry, took on an incredible endurance challenge this week, cycling continuously throughout the entire college day to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Over the course of 7 hours and 5 minutes, Simon remained in the saddle, demonstrating remarkable determination and commitment as he prepared for his next fundraising challenge – the Tour de 4 event in Glasgow this September. As part of the event, Simon will complete a demanding 100km ride in support of the charity, which provides vital care and support for young people living with cancer.
The college community came together to support Simon’s efforts, with staff and students cheering him on throughout the day. Additional fundraising activities, including the sale of sweet treats, helped boost donations and create a fantastic atmosphere across campus.
Simon’s challenge not only raised valuable funds for an important cause but also highlighted the power of community spirit and perseverance. His dedication has inspired both students and colleagues alike as he continues training for the Tour de 4.
Carmel College would like to thank everyone who contributed to the fundraising effort and supported Simon throughout the day. We are incredibly proud of his achievement and wish him every success as he prepares to take on the 100km challenge in Glasgow this September.
Anyone wishing to support Simon’s fundraising journey can follow his progress as he continues training in the lead-up to the event.
