Students from our college enjoyed an inspiring and hands-on experience during a recent visit to Edge Hill University’s Health & Social Care Taster Day, held on Wednesday.
The event offered students a valuable opportunity to explore the university campus through a guided tour, giving them a feel for higher education life and facilities. Throughout the day, they took part in a series of interactive workshops designed to introduce them to a variety of career pathways within the health and social care sector.
Sessions covered a wide range of professions, including midwifery, nursing, paramedic practice, operating department practice, and social care and wellbeing. These activities allowed students to engage directly with subject areas, developing a deeper understanding of the skills, knowledge, and commitment required in these roles.
The taster day provided a meaningful insight into future career possibilities, helping students to consider their next steps and the pathways available to them. It also highlighted the importance of the health and social care sector and the rewarding opportunities it offers.
Overall, the visit proved to be a fantastic experience, equipping students with greater awareness and enthusiasm as they begin to plan their futures.
