Lower Sixth students have successfully completed a challenging Gold Duke of Edinburgh training expedition in the Peak District.
A total of 28 students took part in the three-day experience, working in small groups alongside instructors to develop essential navigation and map-reading skills in preparation for their assessed expedition. The training provided a valuable opportunity to build confidence in outdoor environments while strengthening teamwork and communication.
Alongside the practical elements, students embraced the full expedition experience camping, cooking, and spending time together, creating lasting memories with friends.
Despite facing wet and windy conditions, and even a spell of snow, all participants demonstrated impressive determination and resilience throughout. Staff praised the group for their positive attitude and commitment, highlighting how they rose to the challenges presented by the unpredictable weather.
The expedition was described as a rewarding and memorable experience, combining adventure, teamwork and personal development, and ensuring students are well prepared for the next stage of their Gold Duke of Edinburgh journey.
