Today our college community came together to take part in the Big Lent Walk, raising awareness and funds for the Catholic charity CAFOD.

The Big Lent Walk is a national initiative that encourages individuals and communities to walk during the season of Lent while fundraising to support people living in poverty around the world. Staff and students at the college joined together to walk as a community, showing their commitment to helping others and putting their faith into action.

Lent is a 40-day season of prayer, fasting and reflection that begins on Ash Wednesday and prepares Christians for Easter. During this time, many people look for ways to give back and support those in need, making initiatives like the Big Lent Walk an important part of the Lenten journey.

By taking part in the walk, students and staff are helping CAFOD raise both vital funds and awareness for communities around the world who are facing poverty, conflict and the effects of climate change. The money raised helps provide essentials such as clean water, food, education and emergency support to those who need it most.

The event was a wonderful opportunity for the college community to come together, reflect on the meaning of Lent and demonstrate the importance of compassion and solidarity.

As students walked side by side, the message was clear: small actions, when taken together, can make a big difference.

The college is proud to support CAFOD and to walk together this Lent as part of something much bigger than ourselves.
