Carmel College was proud to launch its week of International Women’s Day celebrations with a powerful and inspiring talk from former student Michelle Akwara.

Returning as a guest speaker, Michelle delivered an engaging session that captivated our students from start to finish. Drawing on her experiences of university life and her journey beyond education, she shared honest reflections, valuable lessons and practical advice to help students navigate their own futures with confidence.

Michelle emphasised that passion, resilience and hard work are the true foundations of success in today’s working world. She encouraged students to make the most of every academic opportunity, to stay focused on their ambitions, and to approach challenges with determination and self-belief.

Her practical tips on maximising academic performance and preparing for future career pathways provided students with clear, actionable guidance as they consider their next steps.
