We are incredibly proud of Upper Sixth student, Cian Brown, who has achieved outstanding success in the world of BMX racing.
For the past five years, Cian has held the title of No. 1 in the North of England for BMX, a remarkable achievement that reflects his dedication and talent. On a national level, he currently ranks 12th in Great Britain, making him one of the country’s top riders.
Dedication and Training
Cian has been passionate about BMX since the age of seven and now has 11 years of riding experience under his belt. To maintain his competitive edge, he trains at Merseyside BMX Club four times a week and undertakes regular personal training sessions to build strength and fitness.
He regularly competes in regional and national events and now has his sights set on qualifying for the BMX Racing World Cup in Sarrians, France next year, a huge step towards his dream of becoming the best in Great Britain for BMX track riding.
Life at Carmel
Before joining Carmel, Cian studied at King David High School. He is currently taking Dual BTEC Sport alongside A Level Graphic Design. Balancing elite-level training with academic commitments is no small task, but Cian says the college has been “really supportive in accommodating his training regime”.
Looking ahead, Cian hopes to progress to either a Degree Apprenticeship or study Sports Science at Liverpool John Moores University.
A Bright Future
Cian’s hard work, determination and passion for BMX are truly inspiring, and we are excited to see what he achieves next. Everyone at Carmel wishes him every success for the future, both on the track and beyond!
