The BTEC courses includes a range of external assessment methods e.g. exams, controlled assessments & board set assignments.

Internally assessed units will require you to complete an assignment and use ICT to present your evidence using a variety of standard software packages. This may include websites, presentations, reports, brochures/leaflets etc. The IT specification has been revised by the exam board, in collaboration with universities and employers, to ensure that content is up-to-date and gives students the skills and knowledge needed in the field of IT.

We offer a Level 3 BTEC Extended Certificate (equivalent to one A-Level) in IT units of study including things like Information Technology Systems, Creating Systems to Manage Information & Using Social Media in Business. This is ideal for students that enjoy using computers and compliments a variety of other subjects. Our Double Award (equivalent to two A-Levels) includes units such as Programming, Cyber Security and Service Management and IT Project Management. This course is ideal for students who are committed to a future in ICT/Computing to gain an in-depth knowledge to support further study or employment.

Course Entry Requirements

GCSE grade 4 in ICT or pass in equivalent ICT qualification (if studied) plus GCSE grade 4 in both English Language and Mathematics.
