The History team and 14 students stepped back into cold war era Berlin this week. We explored the former East and West Berlin sites of Checkpoint Charlie, Berlin Wall and Alexanderplatz. The students were able to wander through a typical East German flat and sit in a surveillance room used by the Stasi! Our walking tour took us on a whistle-stop journey of Berlin in the Cold War taking in sights of murder, persecution as well as heroism. A great way for our students to complete Year 1 of their History studies.
