Carmel's very own MIS Manager, Vicky Pinder, was recently shortlisted for the Female Presenter of the Year Award 2009 at the Hospital Broadcasting Association Awards!

Having worked at Dewsbury District Hospital Radio since she was just 16, Vicky’s commitment to her Show has been unwavering, despite her move to St Helens four years ago after landing a job at Carmel College. She enjoys doing her Show so much that she travels all the way back to Dewsbury every week – which, by the way, is a drive of 1.5 hours in rush hour traffic!

As a member of the Heavy Woollen District Hospital Radio, Vicky’s Show is live between 6-8pm every Wednesday evening and goes out to both inpatients and outpatients in Dewsbury. The show includes quirky funny stories, chart news, celeb gossip and what’s on TV – a bit like listening to Heat Magazine on the radio!!

Although being a DJ is just a hobby for Vicky, she takes it very seriously and is really proud to have got in to the top 5 (highly commended) at the awards.
