Staff and students from Carmel's Art and Design department were rather jetlagged last week when they returned from a four day trip to New York.

38 students and 3 members of staff from the Foundation Art Diploma and the Graphic Design Degree enjoyed their “Big Apple” experience. Highlights of the trip included visits to MOMA (Museum of Modern Art), the Guggenheim Museum and an international Fashion Photography Exhibition. The degree students also managed to squeeze in a visit to a graphic design studio in central New York. 

The group also enjoyed a leisurely cruise along the Hudson River, which, only a couple of weeks earlier, was the site of a plane crash and the miraculous escape of all passengers and crew on board! And of course you can’t visit New York without taking a trip up the Empire State Building and a stroll with your friends through Central Park.
