This week is the Lloyds TSB National School Sports Week which aims to use the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games to inspire young people to do more sport and physical activity.

As Carmel is part of London 2012’s Get Set network, pupils from two local primary schools, Bleak Hill and St Thomas of Canterbury were invited into college for an ‘Olympic Day’. Carmel’s Sports Activity Leaders managed the 4 day event which enabled the children to take part in activities including crazy catch, crazy golf, an Olympic / Paralympic workshop and kite making. 

The event was a huge success, the primary school staff and pupils thoroughly enjoyed it and Carmel’s students gained valuable coaching experience
