Carmel offers a range of pathways that include courses of the highest quality with excellent achievement rates. These are designed to meet the specific needs of individual students.
Advanced Levels Advanced Levels are split into two halves. AS (Advanced Subsidiary) is offered in the first year of study and the A2 course is added in the second year to give a full A Level.
Students can study up to five subjects, though most students study four, reducing to three in their second year.
A Level students will also add A Level General Studies and Key Skills to their programme of study. Students who show strong academic ability in their GCSEs will have the opportunity to study Critical Thinking instead of General Studies.
GCSE Programme
A GCSE Programme for students, who for whatever reason, do not gain the grades required for entry to an advanced level course. We offer a full-time, one year course of study in GCSE and other Level 2 subjects. The programme combines new subjects and opportunities to do some re-sits, if needed, providing a second chance to gain access to an advanced level course.
Essential Skills
Essential Skills courses are negotiated individually, according to student needs.
