Top Results and Exam Success Carmel’s students consistently achieve excellent results in their examinations. 2010's A Level pass rate of 99.4% was yet again above the national average. In addition, every year Carmel’s students achieve some of the top grades nationally in their final examinations.
The quality of teaching at Carmel has been judged to be in the top 5% of colleges nationally (ALPS: A Level Performance System). The results were officially rated “OUTSTANDING”. This means that our students far exceed their potential as predicted by their GCSE results.

Beacon College and Outstanding Ofsted Inspection Report
In April 2003, Carmel joined an elite set of further education and workbased learning providers when we were awarded ‘Beacon’ status for the second time. This was in recognition of our top class inspection results and outstanding performance in the Learning and Skills Council assessment. In July 2007, Ofsted Inspectors were impressed with the extremely high standards of teaching and learning and the comprehensive support for students. Their Report states “Carmel College is outstanding in all aspects of its provision.”

Highly Qualified Staff
Students are taught in an adult atmosphere of mutual respect, by our dedicated, experienced and highly qualified staff. Some staff have higher degrees, Masters and Doctorates and a number are examiners for the national examination boards.

Chaplaincy The Chaplaincy is a sacred space for prayer and reflection. It is also a base designed for flexible use with an open door welcome. A range of activities takes place throughout the year including celebrations to mark the Church’s year and worship opportunities. Students are involved with raising money for charities, pilgrimages to Lourdes, LaSallian Developing World projects and much more. A special feature at Christmas is our work with Centre 103, sharing our Christmas with the homeless.
Exciting Student Life!
Student life at Carmel isn’t just about gaining a qualification, it’s about getting involved, meeting new people and making new friends. Students can choose from over 50 enrichment activities including sports, music, drama and Young Enterprise. You can gain additional useful qualifications such as a First Aid Certificate or try something new like sign language or aromatherapy. You can also support your career choices by taking up a work placement or doing work in the community. Our Student Council also organises exciting events throughout the year as well as raising money for local and national charities.
