The BA Hons Graphic Design programme is run in conjunction with the University of Salford and allows students the opportunity to complete the first year of the degree here at Carmel College.
Level One consists of 8 modules that will earn you the 120 credits needed to progress to Level Two. The course is diverse and exciting allowing students the opportunity to explore many different aspects of Graphic Design.
There are team projects and live briefs, and computer modules that will give you creative and digital skills. Illustration briefs will test your ability to create new and exciting art works and theory modules will teach you about the illustrious history of design, the moral debates that surround our subject and how to analyse images.
You will be encouraged to think creatively, to work imaginatively and to create professional designs to tight and demanding deadlines. The course will challenge and inspire you and is definitely not for the work shy.
The course is intensive and requires passion and commitment. Self-motivation as well as a keenness to respond to tutorial advice are also essential requirements. Studio culture is a key feature of the course, with live projects and workshops forming part of the curriculum.
