Level Four students are encouraged to carry out work placements and freelance projects, and your tutors will actively seek a placement that is right for you. Each year 2 to 3 students have undertaken internships at British Vogue to work with the renowned Art and Creative Director Robin Derrick. We are hopeful that in 2011 we will be able to offer placements at the Times Newspaper also.
Carmel students will have the opportunity in the first year to visit a range of galleries and design studios to support their practice. Recently, students have visited New York, London and Newcastle on specialist Graphic Design programmes.
Recent student success stories:
Liam Campbell is currently studying his first year graphic design degree here at Carmel. Although Liam takes his studies really seriously he manages to run a very successful design firm also. Liam specialises in websites for corporate clients and rebranding. His website is www.camble.co.uk.
Josh left Carmel last year and has picked up an MPA Roses Student Creativity Award 2011. This prestigious award is very well desevered by Josh who created a multimedia campaign to promote design. Josh showed great promise whilst here at Carmel, having designed 5 pages for the 2010 July edition of British Vogue. We wish him the very best of luck for his third year at Salford University.
